Program Highlight: Argyle Lake State Park 101

Go touch grass! No, really, do it. Getting out into nature and surrounding yourself with green, living things has been proven to improve mental health. It's something we instinctively feel right? After a bad day when our blood pressure is high and we just want to burn everything down, taking a walk actually helps us work out those negative emotions.

The problem is that we don't always take the time to actually do the thing. We have school, work, family, friends, and the always inviting scrolling that takes our time first. I know it helps me to not even sit down when I get home. I change my clothes, grab the dog, and hit the trail! Quincy is home to so many parks and walking trails that we are truly spoiled for choice.

But what if you want to explore somewhere new? Or you don't want to run into somebody you know? Luckily, we are surrounded by state parks as well! Siloam Springs is just a 30-minute car ride from Quincy. And just another 20 minutes or so will get you to Argyle Lake State Park.

Argyle Lake State Park is a 1700-acre site with boating, fishing, and hiking trails. Park naturalist, Bridget Hinchee will be at the library on Saturday, September 21st at 1:00 to share even more about this scenic area. Come listen about all you can do before heading out into the beauty of our own backyard!
