Unshelved book club meets at 1:00 pm on the second Wednesday of every month. Books are selected 3-6 months in advance. Anyone interested in discussing the selected monthly book is welcome to attend!
This month, Unshelved is reading Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive by Stephanie Land. This is Quincy Public Library's Community Read!
Summary:
An economic hardship journalist describes the years she worked in low-pay domestic work under wealthy employers, contrasting the privileges of the upper-middle class to the realities of the overworked laborers supporting them.
