Timothy West was prolific. Not only that, but what he did was so varied - stage & screen; historical & literary; Shakespeare.
He was an accomplished Shakespearean actor having appeared in staged versions of King Lear, Henry IV part 1, Othello, MacBeth, Hamlet, The Tempest, Coriolanus, & Love's Labours Lost. (What can I say - he clearly loved Shakespeare's tragedies!) He also appeared in Shakespeare: The Animated Tales & a televised version of King Lear.
If you like PBS, Timothy West also appeared in episodes of Agatha Christie's Marple, Agatha Christie's Poirot, Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators, & Last Tango in Halifax. For those who love literary things, he was in the BBC production of Charles Dickens' Bleak House, Terry Pratchett's Going Postal, & Ever After (the retelling of Cinderella). For the history nerds, Gentleman Jack, The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc, Cry Freedom, & Masada are the movies & shows he did you might like. And for our Disney lovers out there, Timothy West did appear in 102 Dalmatians.
Timothy West was president of the London Academy of Music & Dramatic art, as well as being president of the Society for Theatre Research. He was a patron of the National Piers Society (a UK based non-profit dedicated to the preservation & enjoyment of seaside piers), a supporter of the Inland Waterways Association (a British charity that campaigns for the use, maintenance, conservation, & restoration of British waterways), & a supporter of the Tallyn Railway in Wales (the oldest preserved railway).
The library does in fact have Shakespeare's plays. (Or, if you've had enough Shakespeare for a lifetime, does have biographies on the man & literary criticism relating to his work.) The Quincy Public Library have access to all of the television shows & movies mentioned above as well. Additionally, if dvds or Shakespeare are not your jam, the library can provide you with materials relating to theater, waterways, trains & railways, anything Agatha Christie.
