Curious about meditation?

Curious about meditation or mindfulness, but don't know where to start? Maybe you have an app, but don't want to commit to paying for one more subscription? Or perhaps you listened to your cousin from out-of-state talk about how helpful starting a meditation practice has been?

Mindfulness and meditation have been researched for decades. Over the years, many health benefits have been correlated to regularly practicing mindfulness and/or meditation. This Healthline article discusses some of the benefits (with cited research!) of regular practice.

  • Reduce Stress and Anxiety: Regular meditation practice can lower stress levels and help control anxiety, leading to improved well-being.

  • Enhance Self-Awareness and Emotional Health: Meditation fosters a better understanding of oneself, promoting self-awareness and a more positive outlook on life.

  • Improve Attention Span and Memory: Engaging in meditation can enhance attention, concentration, and memory, contributing to better cognitive function.
