Library Tours

The Quincy Public Library offers guided group tours of the library. Library staff will introduce to first-time patrons, classrooms, and organizations to the public use areas of the library and educate the community on the variety of materials, programs, and resources it provides.  

Quincy Public Library Tour services include: 

  • Guided tours of the Children’s Department and/or Reference Department 

  • An introduction to library services. 

  • A walking tour of the library 

  • One-on-one help with specific library resources, such as public computers or research options 

Library tours can be customized to meet the needs of the requesting organization or classroom and typically take around 45 minutes. Classroom tours are available for all students, from Pre-K to 12th grade.  

Procedure:  

  • Tours are available from 9 AM to 8 PM Monday through Thursday, and 9 AM to 5 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.  

  • Group size is limited to 30. 

  • The library requires one adult for every five children and one for every ten young adults. 

If you would like a tour, please submit a request through our Ask a Librarian form. You may also call the library to request a tour. Please submit your request at least two weeks before the tour date. This allows library staff time to prepare in order to fulfill your organization's needs. Submission of this form does not confirm your tour date. QPL staff will confirm your tour date if time and staffing are available.  

Cancellation Policy: Please contact QPL at least 24 hours in advance if you wish to cancel.
