Program Description

Event Details

Get ready for an incredible, informative event that focuses on 7 brilliant women and their experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)!

Women are grossly underrepresented in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math), and women in STEM fields often faces challenges that men do not.

Why are there so few women in STEM fields? Do women face educational and societal challenges that prevent them from pursuing or entering STEM careers? How do we encourage our young women to pursue these profitable, male-dominated fields?

Join us at the library and meet and talk with local women in STEM as we explore these questions through the eyes of experts:

  • Rebecca Liehr, Management Information Systems (IT)
  • Katie Foote, Electrical & Computer Engineering
  • Emily Morton, Digital Forensics (IT)
  • Alexis Riggs, Physics, Mathematics
  • Mellissa Smith, Applied Anthropology, NASA Ambassador
  • Susan Asher, Physics
  • Jeanette Hill, Biochemistry

This will be a guided plus open discussion as we explore this topic as a community with this team of STEM women!

Light refreshments and great conversation provided!
