Did you know May is National Mental Health Awareness Month? In honor of this month, we're bringing back our Take & Makes in the form of an emotional support pickle you can make yourself! Come by the library to the Reference Desk for your very own emotional support pickle kit! 

Q: What is an emotional support pickle?

A: An emotional support object that is cute, quirky, and growing in popularity!

 

Q: What is an emotional Support Object?

A: Emotional support objects help individuals find solace and emotional stability through inanimate items that bring them comfort.

 

The benefits an emotional support object can have on a person’s mental health are numerous, and benefits to a person’s mental health are numerous, including:

  • Helping to relieve stress and anxiety
  • Bringing comfort.
  • Bringing a sense of reassurance.
  • Aiding in emotional regulation by providing tactile and visual connections to feelings of safety and security.

*Supplies limited.  Kits are available on a first come, first serve basis. Pickle kits are for adults and teens.
