Literacy Advocates of West Central Illinois is a new parent/community advocacy group. The mission of our group, Literacy Advocates of West Central Illinois, is to promote awareness of evidence-based literacy instruction among parents/caregivers, teachers, and school administration in West Central Illinois so that every child receives the appropriate instruction and support to ensure that they reach their maximum potential. We are trying to reach other parents/community members interested in learning more about evidence-based literacy instruction. We would like to offer to support to/share resources with families of struggling readers. We thought, as a literacy advocacy group, the library would be a good place to have our first meeting to determine community interest and needs! Thank you QPL for all you do for our community!
