The Quincy Public Library is hosting a Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest that begins on Saturday, October 21, 2023, and lasts through 6 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023.
Decorate a pumpkin (or gourd) as a book character or with a literary theme and drop off at the Quincy Public Library children’s desk for display from October 18-October 21. Library staff will vote for the best literary pumpkins on Thursday, October 27. The winners will receive a $25 Gift Card to Enchanted Books.
Contest Rules:
- The library cannot accept carved pumpkin submissions. Only painted and/or decorated whole pumpkin submissions may be entered into the contest.
- Contest submissions may be dropped off at the library between Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 9 am and Saturday, October 21,2023 at 4:30 pm.
- All contest submissions must be accompanied by a Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest Entry Form
- One winner will be chosen from each of the following age categories: young kids (ages 7 and under), tween (ages 8-12), teens (ages 13-17) and adults (ages 18 and up).
- All pumpkins must be picked up by noon on Saturday, October 30, 2022. Pumpkins that are not picked up by this time will be disposed of.
