Event Details

In honor of Black History Month, the Quincy Public Library, in partnership with Bella Ease, brings you a showcase of black authors to educate you on the history of black authors in the USA and their overall impact throughout the literary world.

The works of African American authors have led to the expansion of American Literature. African American authors have written poetry, essay, fiction, non-fiction, scholarly articles, and more. They have created a substantial body of literature that has shifted perspectives, prompted conversations, and shaped how the black experience is viewed in American society. Their works have become woven into the U.S. fabric and taken their place in the history of not only African Americans, but all Americans-- and most are still read by millions worldwide!

Come join us any time between 1 pm and 3 pm to explore and learn more about these influential writers. The writers will be presented by community youth with our partner, Bella Ease. Come learn a new author and his or her history and impact!
