Event Details

How well do you think you know black music and musicians? Black music has been used to express joy and sorrow, speak on political, economic, and social issues, and to bring people together. The music, and the artists, are intricately woven into the American fabric. They are an integral part of American history- a part that reaches far beyond just music and into American society as whole, influencing it in profound ways.

Black music began in the time of slavery, beginning with hymns and work songs and morphing into Jazz, Blues, Gospel, and soul music-- and later rap and hip-hop, which are now the most popular genres of music in the world-- all brought to you through the musical expertise of The PDL (Penny Denise Lewis) Foundation and Gary Yates!

If you think you know black music, come test your knowledge and win some prizes! The winner of each round will win a $5 gift certificate or $5 gas card! Rounds will be played until time runs out!

Come have a jammin' good time, hear some good music, and learn some Black History!
