To read? Or not to Read? Is often the question that comes up with banned and challenged books.

This book club answers that question with a big 'Heck Yes!' The Banned Book Club reads exclusively books that have been Banned or Challenged. Each month, the club reads and meets to discuss a book.

This section of the Banned Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. to discuss a book. Book selections are made 3-6 months in advance. Didn’t get the chance to read or finish the book.?  It happens. No pressure- you can still join the discussions! Any interested readers are welcome to join the club and dive into discussions at any time!

This month, the Banned Book Club will discuss 1984 by George Orwell. 1984, now a classic of American Literature, has been challenged throughout the nation a countless number of times since publication.

You are welcome to bring your own book, but library card holders have access to this book for free through the Quincy Public Library (or your local library, if you do not reside in QPL’s district) via eBook or audio on both Axis 360 and Libby, or an eBook on Hoopla. For a physical copy, contact Rachelle at rgage@quincylibrary.org or sblackwell@quincylibrary.org

Feeling ill? No babysitter? Just don't want to abandon your pajamas pants?  No worries. This is a hybrid book club where you can participate through Zoom.

*Due to technical difficulties, tonight's Banned Book Club meeting will not have Zoom.
