To read? Or not to Read? Is often the question that comes up with banned and challenged books.
This book club answers that question with a big 'Heck Yes!' The Banned Book Club reads exclusively books that have been Banned or Challenged. Each month, the club reads and meets to discuss a book. Didn’t get the chance to read or finish the book.? It happens. No pressure- you can still join the discussions!
This section of the Banned Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. to discuss a book. Book selections are made 3-6 months in advance. Didn’t get the chance to read or finish the book.? It happens. No pressure- you can still join the discussions! Any interested readers are welcome to join the club and dive into discussions at any time!
This month, the Banned Book Club will discuss The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. The Perks of Being a Wallflower has been repeatedly and consistently challenged throughout the nation, appearing on the American Library Association's (ALA) Top 10 list of most often challenged books.
You are welcome to bring your own book, but library card holders have access to this book for free through the Quincy Public Library (or your local library, if you do not reside in QPL’s district).
