To read? Or not to Read? Is often the question that comes up with banned and challenged books. In this club, we aren't afraid to be open minded, or tackle tough subjects!

This book club answers that question with a big 'Heck Yes!' The Banned Book Club reads exclusively books that have been Banned or Challenged.

The club meets on the second Thursday and the third Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. to discuss a book. Book selections are made 6 months in advance. Didn’t get the chance to read or finish the book?  It happens. No pressure- you can still join the discussions! Any interested readers are welcome to join the club and dive into discussions at any time!

This month, the Banned Book Club will discuss Looking for Alaska by John Green.  Looking for Alaska has not only been repeatedly and consistently challenged throughout the nation since its publication in 2005, it has made the American Library Association's (ALA) Top 10 list of most often challenged books multiple times since.

You are welcome to bring your own book, but library card holders have access to this Ebook for free from both Axis 360 and Libby. For a physical copy, contact Rachelle at rgage@quincylibrary.org or Sally at sblackwell@quincylibrary.org

This a hybrid book club! If you want to join us, but do not want to leave the comfort of your pajamas, log in via Zoom using this link:
