To read? Or not to Read? Is often the question that comes up with banned and challenged books.
This book club answers that question with a big 'Heck Yes!' The Banned Book Club only explores books that have been banned or challenged.
The club meets on the second Thursday of every month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Book selections are made 3-6 months in advance. Any interested readers are welcome to join the club and dive into discussions at any time!
This month, the Banned Book Club will discuss The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. The Bluest Eye has been repeatedly and consistently challenged throughout the nation, often making the American Library Association's (ALA) Top 10 list of most often challenged books.
You are welcome to bring your own book, but library card holders have access to this book for free via Axis 360 (ebook or audio) or Overdrive (ebook). For a physical copy, contact Rachelle at rgage@quincylibrary.org.
