Join the Quincy Public Library and Illinois Libraries Present (ILP) for another amazing virtual program, just in time for foraging season!
We will be watching Alexis Nicole on the big screen at the Quincy Public Library, or you can attend from home! Alexis Nicole is a treat to the foraging world, due to her knowledge and her peppy personality! If you love plants, are interested in healthier eating and foraging, it is imperative to become familiar with The Black Forager!
Alexis Nikole Nelson is an American forager, cook, and viral internet personality with a fun energy! She maintains the TikTok account alexisnikole and Instagram page blackforager, where she posts videos of her foraging finds along with cooking techniques and historical information. Nelson has millions of followers on social media. Her videos are informal, playful, and humorous, despite a long experience and encyclopedic knowledge of foraging. In most of her videos, she documents ingredients that she finds in the wild and then turns them into dishes using her own or adapted recipes!
This virtual program is free for all members of the community, brought to you by the Quincy Public Library through ILP! After registering, you will receive a Zoom link and you will be able to attend this program from home!
This event is made possible by Illinois Libraries Present (ILP), a statewide collaboration among public libraries offering premier events. ILP is funded in part by a grant awarded by the Illinois State Library, a department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act.
