As a circulation clerk, Tim helps patrons find and check out materials. He also checks in and re-shelves material and catalogs the magazines for the library collection. "I have been a library user from a very young age," Tim explained. "And have always felt at home here." When not at work, Tim spends time with family, enjoys reading, watching tv and movies, gardening, and walking.
As a circulation clerk, Sean's major job duties include helping patrons find material, checking material in and out, and tech tutoring or helping patrons with technological questions. "I enjoy being part of an organization dedicated to serving the public and to helping people," Sean said. Outside of work, Sean enjoys "most things tech-related, such as building computers," reading, watching movies and cooking.
Ruth is the Marketing & Events Librarian. She is responsible for press releases, website management, digital displays, posters, brochures, and social media as well as coordination of grants and events.
She explains, "I love being able to tell the world all the wonderful things available for them at QPL!"
Ruth enjoys travel (as long as mutton is not on the menu!), knitting, and reading.
Natascha plans story times, classes and events for children birth through sixth grade. "I love libraries and working with children," said Natascha, "so I get the best of both worlds!" She enjoys reading, watching movies, dancing, Zumba, and spending time with family, friends, and cats.
As Executive Director of QPL, Nancy is responsible for operation of the Library, including planning, budgeting, staffing, administering policy as set by the Board, and serving as liaison to the City of Quincy.
"It gives me satisfaction to help QPL provide free resources and services that assist our community members to learn, succeed, and enjoy living in Quincy," Nancy states.
Nancy enjoys reading, of course, walking outside where she can enjoy nature, and spending time with her children and grandchildren!
Katie is the Manager of Information Services with responsibility for the Reference Department and the Marketing & Events Department. She also serves as the voice of the library for radio and television interviews and commercials.
"Working at Quincy Public Library is fulfilling because I have the opportunity to help individuals learn, and make an impact on the larger community through the library’s services," explains Katie. "I love having the right resource—whether a physical or digital item—to give to a patron when it is needed. Puzzling out answers and giving people something to enrich their lives is immensely satisfying."
Katie volunteers at Quincy Community Theatre on and off stage, sings with the Quincy Symphony Chorus, and enjoys knitting, simple beading & jewelry-making, traveling to warm beaches, and (of course) reading!
Jeraca works at the "Ask Here" desk to answer any questions that come her way. She also orders books for the library collection, digitizes historical material, and shares her love of Young Adult fiction to "any willing victim who wants to talk to me about the genre!" She loves books and loves helping patrons with their questions, but also enjoys trying to convince people that reading is a great superpower. Besides reading, Jeraca enjoys "binge watching TV shows, being active at the gym, and exploring the city of Quincy by attending the variety of events that occur here!"
I use the library's digital and print resources to provide library patrons with information, looking up books, placing holds, and answering general inquiries. "I chose to work at the library," explained Farrah, "because I get to do what I love in a place that I love while becoming part of this amazing community." Outside of work, Farrah enjoys movies, especially if they are action/adventure, science fiction/fantasy, foreign language, comedies, or all of the above!
Bonnie works as a circulation clerk and can usually be found at the Library's CHECK OUT desk. "I love working at the library," she said. "You meet very interesting people!" In her spare time, Bonnie likes reading, watching television and spending time with family and pets.
