The Historic Quincy Area Photo Archive includes more than 3000 historical photographs covering more than a century of life in the Quincy Area. Photos in the archive are available for viewing or purchase for research or publication.
The photos are digitized and have been included in the Illinois Digital Archives at idaillinois.org. This project was made possible by a technology grant from the Library Services and Technology Act, administered through a competitive grant process by the Illinois State Library. A hard-copy print-out of the photos may be viewed in QPL’s Illinois Room.
You may submit photos for possible inclusion in the archive, pending review of the submitted photos for historical significance.
Photos in the archive are primarily from 1850-1950 and include pictures of people, businesses, churches, entertainment, government, homes, and street scenes.
The photo archive documents a growing city that played a significant role in Illinois history.
